Photo Plus Expo 2014

I'm back from PDN's Photo Plus Expo. This year, I spent three days at the event, taking classes, prowling around the Expo floor, meeting and greeting, and of course, taking pictures. Here's a sampling of some of the things I saw. There will be some write-ups on various things that really got my attention over the next several days, but I thought I'd give you an overview now...

As I mentioned, a good part of the trip was spent meeting and talking to people, both old friends and new. It was good seeing Rick Sammon again, as well as getting to meet Frederick Van Johnson and Derrick Story. Somehow, I forgot to get a picture of Derrick! Next time, for sure! It was also nice to meet and talk with Kinnari, Tammy, and Sonja. Tammy and Sonja were on the bus with me on the way up to New York, and I met and photographed Kinnari while we were charging cell phone batteries around an impromptu charging station set up by the Javits Center staff.

Not all of my time was spent at the Javits Center. I was on foot for my entire visit, and my hotel was a bit over a mile walk, and on Halloween night, I walked down 5th Avenue to 25th Street for a party that was put on by Hasselblad. Those walkabout trips gave me plenty of time to take some pictures...

Finally, no trip to Photo Plus Expo would be complete without a visit to the Unique Photo booth to visit the lovely ladies (and gentlemen) being body-painted. I squeezed in and made a few images...

So, that's my report for now. As I mentioned, there will be several more over the coming days and weeks. For now, enjoy the pictures!
