Creative Motivation

Photo nicked from zackarias.com So I've been reading a lot of Zack Arias' stuff lately, particularly his old tumblr page, and listening to podcast interviews with him. He blows my mind; I can really identify with him.

So, like I said, I've been reading the old tumblr page a lot. There's some real good stuff on there on photography, but more importantly, on life. A few months back, he linked a story on The Guardian about a pianist named James Rhodes. Zack's post, and James' story are absolute must reads for anyone who's having a hard time with passion and creative motivation.

Now would be a good time for that.

creativeLIVE: Live, Worldwide Creative Classroom

I recently learned about an interesting new web community called creativeLIVE that is offering a creative approach to creative training seminars. While I've yet to "attend" one of their offerings due to scheduling conflicts, the folks they've been attracting to lead these virtual retreats are pretty impressive -- Rick Sammon, Bambi Cantrell and Zack Arias are among the photographers involved -- and there are "courses" on all manner of creative pursuits, although photographers have been the most prolific thus far. creativeLIVE
