As you know, I'm all about producing great-looking photographs, but I also really like to save money whenever possible, so when this article on Photography Bay showed up in my inbox, I decided I had to share it with you. In the video, Aaron Nace from phlearn.com shows how to achieve some great studio portraits with a very inexpensive DIY lighting rig. The smaller, 12" versions of the lights were under $50 from Amazon.com at the time the video was made, and the whole rig, including the light stands can probably be built for well under $200. For only a little more money, you can get the 23" versions of the lights he actually used in the video, which may give you a little more flexibility. Still, the price should be well under $250.
